Zinc is one of the core base metals recovered from Gilgit-Baltistan’s mineral belts, typically found in combination with lead and copper ores. Gilgistan manages the full process from site licensing through to export-ready supply.
How We Mine It
Zinc ore is extracted alongside lead and copper from Gilgit-Baltistan’s polymetallic deposits, using the same controlled shaft or surface methods depending on the site’s geology. Our exploration teams map each deposit in advance to determine the most efficient and lowest-impact extraction approach.
Once extracted, zinc-bearing ore is crushed and separated through flotation before grading for export. This integrated process allows Gilgistan to responsibly recover multiple metals from a single licensed site.
We also emphasize responsible resource management, focusing on reducing waste, improving recovery rates, and ensuring safe handling of materials throughout the processing chain.
Strategic Exploration of Zinc Deposits
Focused surveys and geological analysis to identify rare and high-value mineral zones.
